More February, 2005 Feb 10, 2005 -- Children's Rehabilitation Center throws a Baby Shower The Communication Therapy Department organized the party and did a great job with cake, flowers, food and many shower gifts. Pre-School Staff and Alumni (Jean Charlie)
Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Department Administrative Staff and Alumni (Monica and Terry) Elisa is the lucky recipient of many great gifts from all the CRC departments. Now we need a bigger house! Elisa has all the modes of transportation covered, with a wagon and a bike. Nancy was the host of the beautiful party. Valentine's day weekend. Elisa wearing dresses with hearts. Note the new black shoes. After being initially reluctant because she thought she could not walk, she quickly figured out not only how to walk, but how to make big stomping noises as she traveled. Also, when carrying Elisa with these big shoes on, one must be careful of little kicking feet! "Mommy, can I borrow the car?" "Clump, Clump, Clump" down the hall.
Elisa wearing her blue dress from Miss Dana and Miss Lisa. Elisa organizing her wardrobe, wearing a sweater from Grammy and pants from Kris. Daddy's joy... Elisa got an infection over her eye. We spent most of the day in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor, who took only about 5 minutes to poke on the eye and say "here's a prescription for some antibiotics that must be taken four time a day for a week". The eye itself hardly seemed to bother Elisa, but the antibiotics were horribly bitter. So Mommy and Daddy tried to mix it in her formula, her yogurt, with honey, with juice, etc. Elisa hated the taste, and began to reject all food -- even turning away the coveted bedtime bottle. By the last day, fearing malnutrition, Mommy and Daddy had to resort to holding her down on the kitchen floor and squirting the horrible medicine into her mouth. Thank God that's over! Now Elisa has returned to her usual ravenous appetite. Taking a ride with some friends in the new big wagon in the small basement. We can't wait until Spring! Elisa meets Rita's puppies. She gets her courage up and pets the doggie. Rita gives Elisa a handbag with a little poodle inside. Having just spent an hour playing with a real puppy, Elisa thinks she's looking at a live dog. But she instinctively knew what to do with a handbag, putting the strap over her arm and prancing around. |
