Back to March 5-24 (Baptism).

Still More March, 2005 - Easter

Pictures from Easter weekend in Chicago.

Elisa visiting Grampa and Nana's downtown house.

Elisa meets her great uncle and great aunt, John and Nancy.

Yeah!  More wrapping paper to play with!

The condo building has a great indoor playroom.

The playroom has full-sized playground equipment.  I think we may have to get one of these for the backyard.  Wait, first we need a back yard!

Elisa is definitely a thrill-seeker.  Not afraid of speed!

Let's do it again!

Back at Grammy and Papa's house, Maggie reads a book to Elisa.  This is an amazing pop-up book about hunting Easter eggs.

Gramma and Papa throw a "meet Elisa" party.  The food served represented all of the nationalities of Elisa's family, including Chinese, German, Italian, Irish and United States.   And, based on a suggestion from Maggie, also Iowa.

Uncle John and Aunt Sarah.  Uncle John got dressed up in a University of Illinois shirt to celebrate the Illini NCAA Elite Eight game, which they won in an exciting come-back victory.  John bought Illini shirts for all the kids, trying (in vain) to overcome the kids' natural preference for Notre Dame.

Tony, Jean, Jean and Ross.

Aunt Nancy and Barbara.

Elisa meets Rosemary, who knit a beautiful blanket for the baby.

Grammy with Peggy and her daughter, Amy.

Easter morning.  Elisa discovers that the Easter Bunny came and left some baskets and toys.  Elisa got a little help from Maggie to figure out the riddles that the Easter Bunny leaves to help kids find where the presents are hidden.

Elisa in her Easter dress, hand-made by her Nonna.

Ready for Easter Sunday mass.  This is the first mass in decades where Grammy does not have to work as choir director.

Lawrence and Teresa come to meet Elisa.  They are from Hong Kong, and spoke Mandarin to Elisa to see how much she could understand.  They said Elisa's baby talk sounded a little like Chinese, but they could not hear any specific Chinese words.

First time on a swing, at the park behind Grammy's house.

After another airplane ride during which Elisa was a little angel, we headed straight to Nonna and Nonno's house to have some soup.  A big Easter Bunny was waiting there.

We're all going crazy waiting for Summer to arrive.  Elisa anticipates the warm weather by trying out a tropical outfit that Vic and Michael brought back from Jamaica.
