Back to pictures for Jan 1-13. More January, 2005 January 14th, Grampa flys from Chicago to visit Elisa. They were very happy to see each other! Elisa spies Grampa's glasses, a usual target of her mischief... Elisa wears new outfit from Chris. January 18, 2005. Elisa wears new outfit from Nana. Mommy reads a new book sent from Mike and Eileen. Elisa's idea of reading a book is for her to turn the pages as fast as she can, until she gets to the end of the book. Then we start over and do it again about 15 times. So the Say Goodnight book is an instant favorite. If we can keep ahead of her by one page, and get a finger under the next page, she can easily grab and turn the thick pages of this book. Sometimes we do get her to slow down, and we tickle the feet of the baby on the last page... Finally Elisa is ready to graduate to an actual "tick-tock" trick, where the baby is suspended by the ankles and swung like the pendulum of a clock while the tick-tocker recites "Tick..... Tock.... Elisa is a clock....". This is a big hit with the Elisa, as it has consistently been for all of our nieces and nephews. Elisa severely limiting the productivity of Daddy's work... Anne comes over for a visit. Elisa likes to visit Nonna and Nonno's house, where Nonna feeds Elisa some of Nonno's excellent homemade soup. Click here for a short Video of Elisa playing at home. Kerin comes for a visit. Kerin intuitively knows Elisa weakness for being launched into the air. Chris and Danetsa come over for a play date. January 29th. Sue, Katelynn and Olivia come over for a visit. Olivia and Elisa playing with the zoo. Girls at play. Elisa trying out the new doll and doll stroller from Sue, Katelynn and Olivia. Elisa tends not to snuggle with dolls that have realistic faces, but this one seems to be a hit because it has a non-threatening face. She carries it around, strokes the doll's back, saying "Awww" to comfort it. She'll brings the doll to Daddy and positions herself so that the doll is on one knee and she is on the other knee so she can rub the doll's back while Daddy rubs Elisa's back. Quite cute... Some new stuffed animals from Colleen. Notice the artwork on the wall in the background. Subsequently, that piece of art had to be moved to the basement, since Elisa discovered that it made an interesting sound when she scratched on it with her finger nails. |
