China Trip - Day 1: December 10-11, 2004 John and Linda arrive at 8am to take us to the airport.
We took a small propeller plane from Windsor to Toronto.
Then we flew from Toronto to Vancouver.
We met up with most of the people from our travel group today during breakfast at the Four Points Sheraton hotel in Vancouver. Pictured here is Bob Stevens, one of the staff members of Family Outreach International (the adoption agency) and Bob and Pat, one of the adoptive couples in our group. Kaitlyn, the girl pictured, is bringing her mom to pick up her sister. Bob put her in charge of handing out the name tag stickers. Albert and Melinda, another one of the adoptive couples. And Bob again. Checking in at Vancouver airport for flight to Beijing. Just a few small bags... Waiting in the gate area, we met up with the Fizzard family.
Albert at the gate.
Leaving Vancouver, a very beautiful city. We definitely plan to return to Vancouver some time for a vacation. Flight to Beijing is 11 hours, 15 minutes. The flight took us over the top of the world, across the North Pacific, over the Aleutian Islands, and over the arctic regions of Russia. |
